Fighting high-rise building fires In order to reduce the pressure loss caused by the friction of the hose, the hose should be laid vertically. According to the structural characteristics of each high-rise building, the method of laying the hose should be selected according to local conditions. There are three main ways to lay fire hoses: (1) Lay vertically along the internal staircase shaft or patio; (2) Lay vertically along the external wall (balconies, windows); (3) Lay vertically along the external evacuation stairs.

These three methods of laying fire hose vertically are to hang the hose from top to bottom. You can also bring the safety rope upstairs, put one end of the rope from the upstairs to the ground, tie the hose and pull it upstairs. This method is much slower than the previous one.

The water-supply lines laid vertically along the exterior walls or vertical shafts in the building have a heavy weight on the hose interface. Each hose weighs about 60 kg after being filled with water. A high-strength hose or safety rope must be used. Tie the lower end of each hose interface to be pulled and fixed. The upper end of the hose is bent at a right angle of 90°, which is easy to be cut or collapsed by the friction of the wall corners. The bending should be wrapped and cushioned with soft fabrics such as clothes, quilts, curtains, etc.

The fire hose manufacturer introduced that a water separator with automatic pressure relief function should be connected to the vertical bend from the ground up, so as to provide pressure relief for the vertical section of the hose line when the water is cut off. Ordinary water separators can also be used. When the water needs to be stopped to relieve pressure, just open one water outlet.
